| How long will it take to setup my account? | Monday to Friday usually within a few hours although allow 24 hours, at weekends the offices are closed. |
| Can I change my account at any time to a different package? | You can upgrade your account once during a 12 month contract period. We require a minimum of five working days notice and the changes take place at the end of your account month to keep charges simple. |
| Can I get a discount for having multiple accounts | Yes, customers who wish to sign up to multiple packages will receive a discount as they generally require less support. |
| How quickly will you respond to my support queries? | We aim to reply to all emails within a few hours although allow 24 hours, at weekends the office is closed although we monitor our servers and all support requests over the weekend for any emergencies. Our staff are equipped with the latest 3.5G (HSDPA) mobile phones to remotely manage all servers when not in the office. |
| What does support cover? | Support is provided for any questions or problems you have connecting to and using your web package. It doesn't cover problems you may have integrating technologies into your applications or running applications on customer sites, although we will try to help you where possible, we can not provide consultancy services disguised through support questions. |
| Can I have a low usage account and get a discount? | Unfortunately not, we opted for the unlimited bandwidth because this is what the majority of our customers asked for as it takes away any shocks for additional bandwidth charges. |
| Will I incur any additional charges once I sign up? | No, unless you choose to expand your disk space or change your web package. |
| Why do I get a good connection speed but my customer doesn't? | The connection speeds vary according to location, time of day and the infrastructure or internet connection between your customer and our web servers. |
| What do you class as a IP Driver Data DLL? | We only class IP Driver Data Dll's as those created by yourself in Clarion, 3rd party products like Secwin which have their own Data Dll are not included in your Data DLL package limit. |
| Can I remain on an earlier version of the IP Driver? | We generally advise everyone to stay current although to date we haven't experienced any problems with Data Mangers compiled in earlier versions of Clarion although this is not guaranteed to be the case in the future. Current Version IP Driver version is 9054 (11th Oct 2006) |
| What happens when a new version of the IP Driver is released? | We test the new releases first and provided we don't experience any major problems we update the servers after all customers have been informed. This policy will be changing shortly and all customers will be able to manage their own SQL/IP Driver account which means they can run which ever version suits them and upgrade the IP Driver version when it suits them. |
| What is an SQL instance? | Its allows us to have multiple instances of MS SQL 2005 running and thus Db's without it interfering with other instances and other Db's. In other words your instance and database(s) wont be affected by other people using MS SQL. |
| It says in the SQL packages I get "1 example C6 App, Dct and DB". What does this mean? | It means that along with your existing db, to give you a head start getting up and running with your SQL account, we provide a Clarion 6 application and dictionary which connects to an SQL db setup by us in your account. Its a code example for your connection settings and if you experience any problems you can fire up this app to see if its a problem with your app. |
| How long will the IP Driver Taster package be available for? | The IP Driver Taster package will available for a limited time, the closing date for new applications will be on 15th November 2006, although existing Taster package customers can renew their account for up to 3 consecutive months. SoftVelocity customers who have purchased their IPD/IMDD/DFD package and signed up to the IP Driver Taster package before 31st Oct 2006 will also receive the second month for free. |
